Sauti za Busara Festival, also known as the Zanzibar Music Festival. is an annual event held at Stone Town in Zanzibar. It is a platform for the richly talented Swahili artists to combine forces with other international artists. The Zanzibar Music Festival is a 6-day extravaganza that brings together a wide range of artists and musicians from all over the world. African musicians offer their best in reggae, jazz, afro beats, bongo, taarab and traditional music.
The festival is held at the Old Fort in Stone Town Zanzibar. This Fort has a rich history dating from the pre-colonial times, when it was built by the Omani Arabs. It was later used by the Portugueese as a church. This background offers a perfect setting for the sounds of music with lighting reflecting off the stone walls, the battlements and towers all resonating with music throught the 6-day event
